One Body

Today was an awesome day.

I woke up, did some reading, and ventured downstairs for a nice hot cup of coffee. After taking the dogs out, sending out a few work related emails, and looking over some specs for an upcoming project, I actually had time to listen to some music. That doesn’t happen during the day very often.

Pine Warbler 1This afternoon, after Mass, we ventured back over to the church to steam clean the area rug in the school’s nursery. To say it was a bit grungy would be putting it mildly. Now the little kiddos have a nice clean place to crawl around, or even take a nap. Since we were there, and I had plenty of water remaining in the cleaner, we hauled the equipment around the corner and steam cleaned the carpet in the youth group room too. Now it looks awesome and it smells great too!

I know, you’re thinking, how could my day be awesome if I spent the afternoon cleaning carpets at the church? Well, you obviously don’t know me that well, do you? There’s always more to the story. In addition to my perfect morning full of music and contemplation, and my afternoon work session, I had a nice evening with great people at Scripture Study.

We’ve been studying St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians, and tonights study and discussion was spectacular. It was our first meeting in weeks due to the holidays, but we picked up right where we left off and everyone was really involved in the discussion.

For as the body is one, and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body, so also is Christ. — 1 Cor 12:12

Tonight, we were truly one body. It was a great discussion, we had true fellowship, and it was truly inspiring.

I am constantly amazed by the people in our church, and tonight was no exception. I thank God every day for softening my heart and bringing me back into his loving arms.

Now I’m headed back upstairs to end my day like it started. Laying in bed, reading. Like I said, awesome!
