A week ago, the boys and I went to the Sweetwater Camera Club meeting and had a real good time. We met some really great people and the boys had a blast socializing with people who share the same interest they do. Photography.
This week we went to the Digital Image Group meeting, which is another group entirely, although it’s member consist of mostly Sweetwater Camera Club members. The DIG group meets to share the photos they have taken and once again, we all had a real good time.
The boys have been looking forward to today since Thursday. Why? Because today was the Camera Club field trip to downtown Carrollton. We met a few other members at the Cultural Arts Center around 1:30 and we walked around the downtown area. From the cemetery, through the square, all the way to the courthouse. We took pictures of everything along the way, and the boys (and I) had a blast, as expected.
After two and a half hours we all decided to hit the local Dairy Queen and then we called it a day. When we planned to join the Camera Club, I don’t think the boys realized it included walking around town looking at life through the lens of a camera on a nice breezy Sunday afternoon in Georgia.
I took 153 photos today and 8 to 12 of them weren’t too bad. I’m getting better with the Digital Rebel XTi, all I need is more practice, right?
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me”.
