I spent most of the day at the computer working in code, but I took a couple breaks to spend some time with the kids. The youngest and I spent some time working on a jigsaw puzzle, and the two oldest took me outside to get some fabulous photos of the hummingbirds that come to our feeder.
You can visit my flickr page to see some of the photos (I didn’t upload all 76 of them). Yesterday, there was a hawk circling above the house, but I couldn’t get any great photos because of the sunlight and the fact the hawk was not willing to come a little closer so I could snap an image or two.
All in all it was a good day, even though I had to work. I worked enough, however, that barring any bugs in the code, I shouldn’t have to work as long tomorrow.
Gidget canned some tomatoes (all from our garden) with onions (from our garden), garlic (from our garden), and green pepper (also from our garden). It smelled so good in here while she was canning them that we decided tomorrow night will be a pasta and special sauce night. Now she’s getting ready to can the first half of this year’s blackberry harvest. I am sure my stomach will be yearning for a 2am snack.
That’s it for tonight, I am going to crash on the couch and watch something on the tube. I’ve done enough coding and reading today, I just want to get away from it all until tomorrow. I’m almost done with this project, in fact, its completion is just a heartbeat away.
