The Busy Bee Gets The Honey

Busy Busy Busy.

Lined up anther contract for this upcoming month, moved a ton of furniture, literally, ate great Chinese food, visited with family, worked on a website, and collapsed. All in the same day.

I spent a couple hours this morning lining up some work in August. Things should work out pretty good on that one, which will be nice. We’re coming up on the six-month mark since I was laid off, so it will be nice to get back into the groove, if you know what I mean.

(For you slow readers, groove = making money to pay the bills. Sheesh)

Throughout the day, I moved dressers from one room to another, and then moved all the furniture from the entry way into the appropriate rooms. It all looks nice, but I am ready to die. My back is killing me tonight.

My mom and sister came over again tonight and we had Chinese food for the first time in a while. It was delicious, and I’ll be snacking on the leftovers all day tomorrow. A guy I saw at the Chinese place when I picked up the food said, “You know that saying about eating Chinese food and then being hungry an hour later?” I told him I had heard it a time or two. He said, “Well, my father told me to Chinese food with chopsticks, in an hour you’ll still be eating”. Haha. I thought it was hilarious.

After we gorged on the food, we sat and chatted for a while, until my mom was tired and wanted to go home. We’ll see them again tomorrow, and Saturday I am sure. It’s nice to see my sister and know that she is doing good. She still has a rough time because of her financial situation, but she looks better than she has in a long time, and it’s clear she’s much happier than she has been in the past too.

I’ve been working on a website the remainder of the evening, so far I have about 12 hours into it, today alone. And now I am ready to collapse. Tomorrow is another day, and I’ll be busy most of the day too. I think I’ll sit and have a hot cup of tea with honey. That should do the trick.
