Okay, I have to admit something. I am addicted to reality TV shows. Not all of them, just some of them. My favorite, by far, is The Amazing Race. I’ve never been disappointed with an episode of TAR. Survivor is good, but I think they need to mix things up a bit more, as some parts get really, really dull. They should be dull. Some “challenges” are basically the same thing we’ve seen for 100 seasons, or however long Survivor has been on the air.
I usually watch most reality shows at least once, to see if I feel a connection with any of the participants. In some cases, I switch the channel and don’t look back. But in many other cases, I am hooked and end up watching the entire season. I lose interest in some of them before the middle of the season, but I need to know what happens to the people on the show, so I keep watching til the very end.
Such is the case with “I’m A Celebrity”. I do not like the format of the show. I don’t like the hosts of the show. At all. There is so much about that show I cannot stand, but I still watch.
Because I get the chance to see former supermodel Janice Dickinson steal granola bars, stuff them in her piehole, and then act “shocked” when someone brings up the possibility that someone in the camp is stealing food.
Because I get to see people like Holly Montag and John Salley drink liquified trantulas, grasshoppers, dung beetles, and scorpions. You know, stuff you can’t find at the local Piggly Wiggly.
Last night I watched the debut of “America’s Got Talent”. I watched the entire two hours. Glued to the set. Nevermind the morons, idiots and buffoons. There were 5 or 6 really good acts, and I got to see them.
Tonight is the season finale of “I’m A Celebrity”. Who’s going to win? I know who I want to win, but I think it will be someone else. (Not mentioning names incase someone is behind on viewing with their DVR or something).
Okay so that’s it for tonight. A post all about reality tv. I wonder, do I need therapy now or should I wait for the reality show?
