The Run Around

The phone rang this morning and woke me up. Funny thing too, because it wasn’t the harassing creditor.

My wife and I are members of a local FreeCycle group, where people give and get stuff for free from other members, which keeps all of that stuff out of landfills. A couple weeks ago we gave away an old washer and dryer that needed repair, ironically to a family that needed it and was able to make the repairs.

Last night someone posted an item that my wife wanted, and she requested it. When the phone rang this morning I did not recognize the number, but it was local so I answered it. The woman on the other end wanted to know if Gidget wanted the item or not because she had 15 other people who wanted it. Um… Hello. It wasn’t even 8 hours after she requested the item and it was early in the morning.

Anyway, long story short, I jumped out of bed, got dressed and drove over to pick up the item. I hate waking up like that, because I end up foggy headed all day.

When I got home I realized that I had a lunch appointment today and had to hurry and finish my morning business so I would have time to get to the meeting. It went well and I was home by 1:00 pm.

The mail lady arrived with some paperwork I was waiting for so I had to turn around and run errands at 2:30, then we stopped by the in-laws to make sure their computer was working properly on the internet, and after a quick stop for some wings to bring home, we walked in the door at 7:15pm.

It felt like I was running around all day, and my head is still in a fog. We’ve decided tomorrow is an “off” day, to be spent 100% with the kids. A great time will be had by all.

Now I am off to grab my Facebook username (cough) and call it a night.
