I can’t believe it’s June 1st already. One month ago I decided to run with the idea of making my part time business a full time job, and so far, it seems like it’s going to be working. I have lined up a few contract deals that will produce some income in the coming months (or hopefully weeks) and things are looking brighter.
I was supposed to have an appointment with a radio ad representative today, but she called and rescheduled at the last minute. I hate when people do that. I know shit happens, and I understand the need to reschedule, but you usually know you’re going to have to reschedule more than 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment. I just think it’s rude to assume the other person can just reschedule on a moments notice. Especially when that person is the one who would be spending money which supports YOUR business.
I wasn’t planning on purchasing any ad time right now anyway, I just wanted to get a feel for what they are charging these days in case I decided to do that in the future. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow since she’ll be coming then.
I don’t know if i mentioned it here before or not, but our air conditioning system “died” a couple months ago, and being out of work I just don’t have the $684 to fix it right now. The repair should be covered with our home warranty but I have to pay to have it fixed first and then find out if they will reimburse me. Sorry, with funds as tight as they are right now, I don’t think so.
Anyway, with the limited funds we have I bought a couple window air conditioning units, one for each side of the house. The units cost $100 each, and it turns out, we have stayed comfortably cool. The best part? We saved over $100 on the power bill this month alone. So the units are already paying for themselves. How cool is that?
I’m not as sore tonight as I was yesterday, which is a good thing. I’m very happy I did not fall all the way down the stairs. I’m watching The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. It hasn’t been too bad up til now, so I suppose I will finish watching it before I head off to bed.
Tomorrow’s going to be a long day, as I have a couple of appointments to keep, and then I have to meet with the tardy ad rep.
