A Day At The Park

powwow.jpgYou’ll have to forgive me, but this is going to be another short post.

We spent most of the day at the Clinton Nature Preserve at the Fifth Annual Red Nation InterTribal Pow Wow. Our plan, when we left the house, was to stay for an hour or two because we had a lot of other things we wanted to do today. We were having such a good time that we didn’t even notice that three and a half hours had passed.

We had to leave though, because we needed to stop by and see the mother-in-law to see how she was doing since we hadn’t seen her for most of the past week. She has been feeling very run down and she has had a slight fever. Her radiation burns are healing for the most part, but she has one area that is still raw flesh, and it is still very, very, painful for her.

After visiting with the in-laws for a while, we decided to come home and pick up some things and head back to the nature preserve. While walking the trails in the morning we noticed a nice pond with picnic tables and we thought it would be nice to have an early dinner near the pond.

In total we spent about six hours at the park today and we had a blast. I am currently rendering a video compilation of the photographs I took of the Grand Entry ceremony today. I will post the video tomorrow, if I remember (it should be visible in the sidebar when it becomes available). I am so tired tonight it isn’t even funny.
